I'm thinking about selling my Canon 10D. Its in nearly new condition, since its spent 99.99% of the 2 years that I've owned it on a shelf in my studio. With the battery grip, 2 batteries and charger does $400.00 seem like a reasonable price?

Hopefully, I'll use this sale to cover most of the cost of a G9, which is a heck of a lot more portable.

If you come down like $50-100 on the price I'd be interested.. I have wanted a DSLR for a while. I was just fooling with the G9 in a store and thought it was super cool, but is it really a viable substitute for the 10D, or just a portable alternative to a large camera?

Possibly. I'm going to hold out for $400 if I can, but I'll let you know! The one tiny flaw with the camera is the battery door on the grip doesn't spring open nicely like it should (it never did). Not a big deal at all, but the one on my 5D snaps right open, so by comparison its annoying.

As for being a substitute for the 10D, it absolutely would be! The 10D sits gathering dust and the G9 will go everywhere with me instead of the 5D. Sometimes, I just want to be more subtle too - nothing is subtle about a dslr. And also, the 12mp vs 6mp is great. I've looked at low iso files from the g9 and they're quite acceptable. If I really need to, I can still downsize them to 6mp and tighten them up/reduce noise/etc. I also like the option to have video. I haven't had a video camera in years, but recently I've needed one - this is an all in one solution!

I thought about it a bit... if you're seriously interested and would agree to $350, I'll sell. Let me know!
