I'm surprised that you don't have anyone willing to model for stock... I have two suggestions - 1. Craigslist. My last ad got me about 50 responses. You can definitely find people there! 2. ModelMayhem.com - seems like a dumb place at first glance, but its very useful. If you're comfortable contacting people, then there are plenty there. Its been pretty good for me so far. I would defintiely start a page there - it can't possibly hurt!

I know what you mean about being reluctant to bring people into your studio. Mine is in a large converted bedroom in my house. Its really old, and a bit embarrassing sometimes. But, I think people see the photos and look past the house. I DO think that I lose some people when they find out the studio is not a stand-alone business. Oh well.

Also, don't forget about outdoor shoots. I've done several 'out on the streets' shoots that have turned out well. You also get a variety of backdrops that you can't get in the studio... paint, brick, metal, wood, etc. You're at the mercy of the weather though.
