I thought there would be a ton of people out in Washington Square park today, but it was really quiet. NYU must already have ended classes...

NYU spring term ended on May 11th - don't worry, we'll be back in late-August. I didn't realize that you graduated from Tisch until recently -- how did you like the photo dept while you were there?

I guess that explains it then. I'm completely out of tune with what school schedules are like... I've been teaching at the same school (only one day a week now) for almost ten years, and I still had to ask someone today when the last day of school and graduation was! But luckily, I taught my last class today... and now summer camp. Fun...

Tisch? Not me. RISD, URI, Parsons and Columbia. I DID go for an interview for this M.A. Photo program a few months ago, but I could tell right away it wasn't the place for me. The search continues though. Maybe I'll wind up back at Parsons!

for some reason I thought you were a Tisch graduate. Yeah I hear that the masters program isn't too hot.

Hmm... well my wife works for NYU and teaches in the Nursing program... maybe that's the connection? I don't know!

The program looks great on paper, and its probably good for some but I just didn't like the tone of the face to face interview and some of the work they suggested I go look at (there was some show on of MA students stuff) was embarrassingly bad. Not my thing at all. I've actually considered finishing my MA in Art ED (somewhere other than Columbia) or maybe look at Art History programs...

Those are great! I half expected to see pictures of pushers or homeless people. I really love that park. I used to hang out there every night when I moved to NYC. Now, not so much since I live in Brooklyn.
