what next?

Ok, so I've shot a ton of these smoke photos - mostly based upon what I learned from the flickr artsmoke group. The images are fun, sometimes beautiful and some might even be "art". But what next? All the smoke images I've seen have been great abstracts but are all essentially the same. Catching the random nature of smoke has its own merits, but surely there's got to be a way to push this technique - evolve it, turn it into something else... right?

Any ideas anyone? The closest I've come to coming up with something different was using it as a steam substitute (see my feb 9 post) but that's really boring...

What next?

Could you coax the smoke to take shape? Allow it to flow around a glass ball or other more obvious shape, a person, a tree, etc.

That's very cool! But a bit dangerous for my taste...
