i got to your site through the "protests" community...

your photos are fantastic; i love the newest series. i noticed that you had a lot of photos taken at lupos heartbreak cafe in providence... are you from RI? your bio says jersey.

do you know that they moved? they're now at the strand, and concerts have to end at 11 so the club can open :-(

I lived in RI for a long time and then moved to NYC after college... now living in NJ... The Lupo's shots were taken last week at the new Strand Location.

Hi - I too happened to run across your website(s) after seeing some of your pictures in my friends NYC livejournal list and just wanted to tell you that I thought they were great photos!
Just out of curiosity, are you a professional? and if so what kind of training do you have? Also, what kind of camera do you take pictures with?
I know its random, but I thought the quality of the pictures was great!

I'm always glad when people enjoy my work, particularly if they find it by chance...

I am a professional photographer... I won't go into my whole resume, but my formal training has been at the University of Rhode Island, Rhode Island School of Design, New York Academy of Art, Parsons School of Design, and Columbia University.

Nothing beats experience though. Shooting LOTS of film and developing a good network of peers to critique your work is the best way to become a better photographer.

As for my gear, I've always been a Canon user, although there is nothing wrong with Nikon...
I have a huge list of stuff, but my everyday gear is a Canon EOS 1N and a Canon 10D. I'm always looking to upgrade the digital stuff though, and will probably go to the 1D mark II when its in the stores.

Hope that's helpful!
