i like the composition and subject matter alot.

the lighting feels a little flat though.

if you're using a light you can control, i would put a diffuser in front of the it. the diffused light should add more dimension to the plant and bring out it's shape. and to bring out more highlights and shadows, you could add a black screen or fabric to the side of the plant opposite your light. this will prevent any light bouncing off the walls and illuminating the shadow side of the plant. your shadows would be stronger and bring in more dimension.

Thanks for your thoughts on these!

I actually had little control over this set though. I shot these very quickly and spontaneously with a point and shoot in about 2 minutes. Strong sunlight through an open window. With a bit more time, I'm sure your suggestions could improve these shots... sometimes you have to act quickly though!

maybe some soft-focus in photoshop would work also.
